Isla Vista Series: Created during the pandemic, these pieces explore the time I had during my last 1.5 years in Isla Vista, while studying at the University of California Santa Barbara. A square mile beside the ocean, inhabited by a population of majority college students, the community is unique in both its culture and landscape. Living in this area during a time where the community aspects were largely inaccessible due to the pandemic, I became more connected to the landscape of the town itself. During a time of isolation, I grew more connected with the spaces in this town- both within the confines of my shared living space and the amazing nature within walking distance from my front door.
